10 CO-STARS WHO HATED EACH OTHER

Claire Danes and Leonardo DiCaprio may have played star-crossed lovers in "Romeo + Juliet," but the sparks certainly didn't fly on set.

Actor Jason Alexander revealed this week how the cast of “Seinfeld” hated their co-star Heidi Swedberg — the actress who played Alexander’s fiancée Susan Ross — so much, they got show creator Larry David to kill her off.

The unfortunate Ross ended up being poisoned after licking cheap envelopes for invitations to her wedding to Alexander’s character, George Costanza. Her fate was sealed because other lead actors like Jerry Seinfeld, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Michael Richards complained about her lack of on-set chemistry — not only with Alexander, but with them, too.

“They go, ‘You know what? It’s f - - king impossible, it’s impossible,’” Alexander told “The Howard Stern Show” Wednesday.

But the 55-year-old comedian is certainly not the first actor to bad-mouth a co-star. Here are nine other examples of on-set feuds:

Tony Curtis vs. Marilyn Monroe

Although he later admitted having an affair with his 1959 “Some Like It Hot” co-star Marilyn Monroe, the late Hollywood legend Tony Curtis famously said, on being asked what it was like to kiss Monroe: “It was like kissing Hitler.” Speaking in 2008, the actor defended himself with, “I said it as a joke. I mean, it was such a darn stupid question, so I gave a stupid answer.”

Ryan Gosling vs. Rachel McAdams

They may have gone on to have a real-life romance, but it wasn’t all hugs and kisses on the set of their weepy movie “The Notebook.” According to director Nick Cassavetes, Gosling and McAdamsdetested each other during filming. He described a day when Gosling flat-out refused to do a scene with his co-star. “He says, ‘Would you take her out of here and bring in another actress to read off camera with me?’” Cassavetes recalled. “I said, ‘What?’ He says, ‘I can’t. I can’t do it with her. I’m just not getting anything from this.’”

Anne Hathaway vs. James Franco

There seems to be a pattern when it comes to Howard Stern baiting co-stars and getting them to diss each other. Speaking on Stern’s Sirius radio show in March 2013, Franco referred to his 2011 Oscar co-host as a “goody-two-shoes” and refused to defend her when the DJ talked about the “Hatha-haters.” He also confessed that the two didn’t talk much anymore.

Alec Baldwin vs. Shia LeBeouf

Troubled LaBeouf sparked a row with his 2013 Broadway “Orphans” co-star Baldwinby tweeting: “The theater belongs not to the great but the brash.” Baldwin came back with, “I don’t think he’s in a good position to be giving interpretations of what the theater is or isn’t about.” LaBeouf was eventually fired from the show for “creative differences.”

Freddie Prinze Jr. vs. Kiefer Sutherland

In July 2014, speaking at a San Diego Comic-Con panel for “Star Wars: Rebels,”Prinze talked trash about his one-time “24” co-star Sutherland. The actor said: “Kiefer was the most unprofessional dude in the world . . . I think everyone that worked with him would say that.” He went on to admit that he stopped acting for a while after his “24” gig, which made him want “to quit the business.”

Patrick Swayze vs. Jennifer Grey

In his 2009 autobiography, the late heartthrob Swayze revealed that filming 1987’s “Dirty Dancing” with his love interest Grey was not a bed of roses. He said the actress would break down in tears at any criticism and disrupt filming by giggling too much. “She slipped into silly moods, forcing us to do scenes over and over again when she’d start laughing,” he wrote.

David Duchovny vs. Gillian Anderson

Mulder and Scully may have reunited for next year’s “X-Files” reboot, but the actors who play them were never superfriendly. In a 2008 UK newspaper interview, Duchovny said of Anderson: “Familiarity breeds contempt . . . We used to argue about nothing. We couldn’t stand the sight of each other.”

Sir Anthony Hopkins vs. Shirley MacLaine

Strong-headed Hopkins had a spectacular personality crash with the outspoken MacLaine when the duo filmed “A Change of Seasons” in 1980. Asked what it was like to work with the veteran actress, he fumed: “She was the most obnoxious actress I have ever worked with.”

Claire Danes vs. Leonardo DiCaprio

They may have shared some sizzling chemistry on-screen, but DiCaprio and Danes could not stand the sight of each other behind the scenes of Baz Luhrmann’s “Romeo + Juliet” in 1996.According to reports, Danes branded him “very immature” because of his on-set pranks, while he found her haughty and standoffish. The pair had a chance to work together 15 years later in “J. Edgar” — but Danes turned down the role.

Peter Sellers vs. Orson Welles

Ill feeling ran so deep between Welles and Sellers that, when the duo starred in the same movie, 1967’s James Bond spoof “Casino Royale,” they couldn’t stand to be in the same room. The long-suffering director Martin Campbell had to film each scene they shared separately, each opposite a mannequin. The performances were later stitched together in the editing suite.

Kendall Jenner's 21st birthday

Kendall Jenner's 21st birthday bash on Wednesday night was the talk of the town --- and the extravagant, eye-catching party dress that she wore to the event is probably the major reason why! Jenner partied the night away in a slinky, sparkly custom dress with a plunging neckline to ring in her legal drinking age.

The birthday girl quite literally shone bright like a diamond in a Labourjoisie dress that was custom-made with Swarovski and crystal mesh, reports E! News. Kendall Jenner posted photos of the radiant party dress to her Instagram on Thursday, her actual birthday, writing that she was channeling "vintage Paris Hilton vibes" with the look.

The dress is reminiscent of the high-hemline, halter-top, sparkly party dresses that became synonymous with socialite Paris Hilton's style when she was most heavily featured in the tabloids in the early- to mid-2000s. Clearly, Kendall Jenner nailed the look, as even Hilton herself --- who was at the birthday party Wednesday night --- gave it her stamp of approval in a comment on the photo, writing that it "slayed."

But aside from showing off a gorgeous new dress, the real reason Kendall Jenner was ready to party is that she is finally of legal drinking age. Younger sister and Snapchat superstar Kylie Jenner was on hand at the party to catch a video of Kendall indulging in a bottle of wine during her celebration at a Los Angeles nightclub.

But the biggest moment of the night didn't come until towards the end, when Kendall Jenner started receiving her presents. In a total My Super Sweet Sixteen move (do you guys remember that show?), Jenner wound up taking home a new car during her birthday party. Big sister Khloe Kardashian snapchatted video of Jenner covering her mouth in shock and excitement when a dark car with a big bow on it rolled up to her party on Wednesday night.

And the new car wasn't the only glamorous surprise. Reportedly, Kim Kardashian and husband Kanye West snuck into the soiree around midnight with a cake for Kendall Jenner, making a rare public outing since Kardashian was robbed at gunpoint in Paris last month. The rest of Jenner's family, including Kylie Jenner, Kourtney Kardashian, and Kris Jenner, were all in attendance as well.

THE SURPRISING LOCATION WHERE THE NEW PREDATOR MOVIE WILL TAKE PLACE

In the three Predator movies that we've seen (discounting the Alien vs. Predator chapters), a new setting has been selected each time out. The first movie, of course, brought us to a South American jungle; Predator 2was set in Los Angeles; andPredators took audiences to the titular creatures' homeworld. Shane Black's upcoming sequel The Predator will be continuing this tradition, but in a very unusual location: the suburbs.

This bit of information has been revealed by The Hollywood Reporter, though it seems that's the extent of the details that they have about the script that is being co-written by Shane Black and Fred Dekker. Beyond its suburban setting, the only other thing that we know about the story is that it will once again follow a group of characters, and that it will fit into the canon of the franchise and won't be a reboot.

Of course, we should also mention that the new trade report about The Predator comes packed with a new cast addition as well. Earlier this fall we learned that Boyd Holbrook would be replacing Benicio Del Toro as the central protagonist in the film, but now we have learned that Olivia Munn is also in talks to join the growing ensemble. While Holbrook will be playing Special Forces commando Quinn Mackenna, there are no details about Munn's role beyond the fact that she is a scientist (it's easy to roll your eyes at what looks like "sexy scientist" casting, but we can hope that a filmmaker as talented as Shane Black will make it work).

Things didn't work out with Benicio Del Toro as the lead of The Predatordue to scheduling conflicts, which were largely caused by the fact that the new action movie is hurtling towards its start date and getting serious about putting all of its pieces in place. When I spoke with Shane Black late last month, he noted that we should be hearing a whole lot more casting announcements in the coming weeks. Hopefully those announcements will come paired with at least minor details about the plot.

Production on The Predator is gearing to start up in early 2017, with Twentieth Century Fox having announced that the film will be out in theaters on February 9, 2018 (a weekend they've grown to like thanks to Deadpool's success). We should be hearing a whole lot more about the coming blockbuster in the coming weeks and months, so be sure to stay tuned for all kinds of updates.

In the meantime, hit the comments section below to tell us what you think both about The Predator being set in the suburbs, and Olivia Munn joining the cast as an as yet unnamed scientist.

STARSHIP TROOPERS IS GETTING REBOOTED, FIND OUT WHO IS INVOLVED

Robert Heinlein was one of the greatest sci-fi writers of the 20th century, so naturally some of his stories would be adapted as feature films. The most famous of the bunch is Starship Troopers, and while that movie earned a lot of mixed-to-negative reviews, it has remained a cult favorite. Nearly 20 years after that movie's release, this story has joined the ever-growing list of properties being rebooted, and it already has writers and a producer attached.

According to THR, Columbia Pictures has hired Mark Swift and Damian Shannon, the same writers who tackled the upcoming Baywatchreboot, to pen the new Starship Troopers script. Neal Mortiz from theFast & Furious franchise will produce the reboot alongside Toby Jaffe, the same man with whom he worked on the 2012 Total Recall remake. It's also important to note that the newStarship Troopers (which Columbia hopes will launch a franchise) supposedly won't remake the 1997 movie. It will instead look to the original novel for inspiration, which followed a soldier named Johnny Rico who was a soldier fighting in a war between humanity and killer bug aliens. In other words, we likely won't get the same satirical tone from the movie that starred Casper Van Dien, Dina Meyer and Neil Patrick Harris, among others.

This isn't the first time a Starship Troopers reboot has been attempted. Back in 2011, Neal Mortiz tried to put the project together with writersAshley Edward Miller and Zack Stentz, but that iteration obviously never moved forward. There was also a TV show discussed, but now it looks like Moritz finally has a new team to tackle the cinematic reboot, and this time around, they're aiming to be more faithful to the originalStarship Troopers novel. Released in 1960, the book earned similar mixed reception as the 1997 movie later would, with some folks thinking it was outright dull to the tale winning a Hugo Award for Best Novel. However, the novel was also accused of having elements of racism and fascism, so even though this movie will hopefully be a close adaptation, changing certain aspects for a modern audience may be unavoidable.

In contrast, 1997's Starship Troopersmovie was a loose adaptation, as director Paul Verhoeven licensed the title for an unrelated script called Bug Hunt at Outpost Nine. Some character names and plot details from the novel were retained for the final product, but Verhoeven opted for a satirical approach to the material, with the main message (according to him) being "Let's all go to war and let's all die." Despite the less-than-stellar reception, that movie was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects, and it also spawned three direct-to-video sequels.

THE WONDER WOMAN TRAILER MAY HAVE HINTED AT A BIG DC VILLAIN

It's a great day to be a DC fan. A brand new trailer for Diana Prince's upcoming DCEU solo movie has finally dropped, and our excitement for Wonder Woman has officially reached a fever pitch. Although the latest trailer for the imminent WWI period piece doesn't feature too many major plot details, there's one very important aspect of the film that appears to have received a bit more attention: its central villain. Although it's still early, we believe that the newest trailer for Wonder Womanhas officially hinted at the presence of Ares as a behind-the-scenes player.

The moment in question is incredibly brief, but it's certainly telling for fans of the Wonder Woman mythos. Roughly one minute into the new trailer, we see glimpses of scientists running test on a brand new form of chemical warfare to presumably use on the WWI battlefield. These tests show a mysterious gas that cannot be stopped by protective equipment of the era, and this shot is immediately followed by a glimpse ofDanny Huston's character musing about how he will soon be able to take control of the world. It's this specific sequence of shots and events that lead us to believe that he will portray Ares in the film.

For those of you who are unaware, Ares is a major player within Wonder Woman's corner of the DC universe. He is the Greek God of War, and he derives his power and strength from the conflict of men. The more we battle one another, the stronger he gets. This seems to provide a perfect rationale for why Wonder Womantakes place during the events of World War I; as Steve Trevor firmly states during the preview, it's the war to end all wars. Based upon what we have seen from this latest trailer, it looks like Ares has pulled the strings behind the scenes to escalate The Great War, and his new chemical weapon is a trump card to further entrench humanity in its bloodiest conflict.

It's also incredibly easy to theorize that Danny Huston may in fact portray Ares in Wonder Woman because the character's look has varied over the course of his publication history. While Ares has typically been depicted with a very demonic looking appearance over the years, plenty of other versions of the character have taken the form of an unassuming man. It's entirely plausible that a more traditional looking version of Ares will reveal himself at some point during the events of Wonder Woman, but it's not outside the realm of possibility that Huston is a version of the legendary villain who is hiding in plain sight.

Of course, we must also acknowledge that the potential company Ares keeps in the Wonder Woman trailer seems to further corroborate this theory. It appears that the mysterious woman in the mask (played by actress Elena Anaya) is working alongside Danny Huston's character to develop this deadly biological weapon. This has led to a number of theories suggesting that Anaya is portraying a similarly iconic Wonder Woman villain known as Circe, an evil sorceress who will serve as a minion or second in command to Ares throughout the events of the film. It's also possible she's playing a version of Dr. Poison in the film. We won't know for sure until June, 2017.

We should obviously note that this is all conjecture right now. Wonder Woman is still a long way off, but all of the current evidence seems to point to the presence of some memorable DC villains popping up in Diana Prince's solo movie. We will know for certain once Wonder Woman hits theaters on June 2, 2017.
