Baywatch Teasers; Full Trailer Arrives Tomorrow

There is no denying that over the last few years, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has elevated himself to becoming one of the biggest names in Hollywood. He has expanded past just action films by moving into the comedic realm as well, and has lined up many future projects as a result. His involvement in Fast 8 and his sequel to Jumanji are two of his biggest upcoming projects – but for his comedic abilities, his feature length Baywatch reboot is one to be on the look-out for.

Baywatch‘s release date was recently moved to the end of May 2017, but that has not put a stop to the film’s marketing campaign kicking off this month. Outside of set photos and fun,holiday-themed posters, the R-rated comedy has largely stayed out of sight – but that all changes this week. Now, the first, albeit brief, footage from the movie has been released ahead of tomorrow’s full-length trailer.

The Baywatch cast have taken advantage of social media to debut trailer teasers on Twitter. Johsnon‘s teaser primarily serves as the “true” trailer preview by only offering up a glimpse at his character, Mitch Buchanan. Zac Efron‘s trailer teaser (see below), however, actually gives an introduction to his character in the film; Matt Brody, showing him leap (or dive) into action and get caught in an awkward exchange with Alexandra Daddario’s Summer Quinn.

The full trailer will certainly expand exponentially on what is shown here, but the movie already appears to have a good idea of what it is and nothing more. Setting this tease, and hopefully the entire trailer, to Notorious B.I.G.’sHypnotize continues to push the idea of the movie away from what the originalBaywatch TV series was, but should work better for this cast. Johnson and director Seth Gordon have assembled a talented cast for this adventure and the R-rated take gives them the opportunity to not hold back on anything.

While the tone itself should be a departure from the ’90s TV series, bothPamela Anderson and David Hasselhoff are set to cameo in the movie – although they are not going to play their original roles. No matter what level of involvement they both have, it is expected that the film will play on the tropes of the TV show. Slow-motion runs on the beach are sure to make an appearance at some point in the film, with even The Rock’s rise out of the water being shown in slo-mo for the teaser.

Even more references to the originalBaywatch TV series should be prevalent throughout the film reboot’s marketing – and with what should be assumed to be a red-band trailer on the horizon, it will be interesting to see just how far Baywatch will push its boundaries. Stay tuned to Screen Rant tomorrow to catch the full trailer when it is released!
